Our Organisational Structure

  • The Quality Assurer / Operations Manager
The Quality Assurer is a link between the organization and the SETA. She / He is required to ensure that all processes are fair, and have been carried out in accordance with stipulated requirements. The moderation has 3 recognised rules:
    • Ensuring quality
    • Coaching and mentoring assessors and facilitators
    • Co-ordination of systems
  • The Assessor
The Assessor must be committed to the idea of learning as a lifelong process, and who sees assessment as a vehicle for supporting lifelong learning. A good committed assessor therefore is someone who:
    • Works closely with learners to identify opportunities for gathering of evidence
    • Discuss and agrees on assessment plans with the candidate
    • Assesses evidence against standards
    • Makes fair, valid and reliable judgements about the learners competence
    • Keeps assessment records
    • Provides meaningful and constructive feedback to learners
    • Liaises with the learners line manager / trainer and the internal moderator
    • Follows SETA procedures for registration of learners and assessment results
  • The Moderator
The Moderator will combine both external and internal moderation systems which will ensure that all assessors produce assessments that are credible, fair, valid, reliable and practical. Moderation will be a means of ensuring that two or more providers delivering programmes to the same unit standards are assessing consistently to the same standards, and in a well designed manner.
