Definitions
Workplace Skills Plan (WSP)
Annual Training Report
Annual Training Report is a report compiled by the company on what training has already been implemented and who the beneficiaries are; on which learning programmes and on what the cost of those amounted to. The ATR always runs from the previous skills development year until current(e.g. April 2010-Mar 2011).
SETA
Sector Education and Training Authority: This body is accountable for all training in each specific industry and is responsible for the disbursement of grants to employers(Mandatory & Discretionary Grants).
SDF (Skills Development Facilitator)
Is a person appointed in an organisation to ensure that there is a learning culture in the organisation as well as the identifying the correct training interventions for staff to follow in their quest to improve their work and individual performance.
Mandatory Grant
Grant payable to an employer who has nominated an SDF and who has submitted an accurate WSP/ATR timeously. Based on whether the company has implemented the planned training-the company will then be able to access these Mandatory grants.
